In 2010 I was hospitalized and the day that I was discharged from the hospital a massive earthquake struck Haiti. Due to the destruction and chaos, my mother decided to move in with my brothers in the Dominican Republic, leaving me behind in Haiti as my father wanted me to stay with him. My Father is a builder, and works hard every day, but I would often still struggle to find food. Sometimes, sometimes I would stay out playing with my friends and I'd forget to eat. When I would finally go to buy food, it was often sold out.

My life took a turn for the better when my Godmother brought me to Gressier, where I started attending school and eventually connected with Mercy International. As I grow older and continue my education, my dream is to, one day, become a nurse and serve my country. My favorite Bible verse reminds me of God's love and sacrifice., John 3:16, For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
