
Pastor Jean Etienne Charles
Executive Director
Pastor Jean Etienne Charles, the third of six children born to Pastor Benito and Fragelie Charles, grew up in a devout Christian environment in Haiti. He is happily married to Jacqueline Cambry Charles and is a loving father to four daughters, including three biological and one adopted child.
His educational journey began at College Evangelique de Simon in Haiti, where he completed his primary and high school studies. He furthered his academic pursuits by earning a degree in Biblical Studies from Freedom Bible College and an undergraduate degree from Geneva College and Jamaica Bible College.
With over 30 years of experience as an ordained minister, Pastor Charles has faithfully shepherded numerous churches. At one point, he oversaw the pastoral care of seven churches in Haiti. He has also shared his knowledge as an educator at the American University of Les Cayes and actively participated on the boards of organizations like Harvest House, Haiti’s Children, Inc., Heart of the Father Ministries, and Harvest International.
Pastor Charles has been instrumental in the growth and development of Mercy International in Haiti since its inception, to now serving from Boerne Texas as the Director of Mercy International, Inc.

Kennley Leyendeckers
Associate Director
Kenlley Leyendeckers is a native of Haiti who was adopted by American parents at the age of thirteen from an orphanage. During his time in an orphanage, he encountered missionaries who inspired him to envision a future dedicated to helping children in need. The 2010 earthquake led to his father's journey to Haiti to bring him to the United States. Kenlley quickly adapted to American culture and eventually graduated from high school and college. Since 2016, he has served as the Associate Director of Mercy International. Kenlley remains committed to his mission in Haiti and serving where the Lord leads him. He is married to Lydia, a native of Texas, and they have two daughters. Kenlley is enthusiastic about the future and the opportunities that lie ahead for him, his family, and the people of Haiti.
