His name is Markendy. His aunt doesn’t know how old he is. She never knew his dad and his mom died last year. He went to live with an uncle but he didn’t take care of him so the aunt took him and brought him to our free clinic. He’s very malnourished and lethargic, so is she.
They are from the mountains east of Port au Prince. She asks what she should do. We give her some money and ask her to feed the child and herself and return in a week. We will try to figure out what response will save this child’s life and end his suffering.
